The artwork of José Manuel revolves around the idea of art as a medium for the exploration of the unknown through objects, spaces, and people close to his daily experience. He takes a journey through the thick tapestry of the “real world” toward a tranquil, mostly silent, domain of essences and profundity. Silent and mysterious large format paintings, portraits more expressionistic, along with small creations of rich textures and a certain poetic air and spontaneity are the principles of his creativity. His artwork recounts the beauty and the deterioration of the urban context while also conveying in equal parts the anxiety and wonder it provokes.
