Elvis Céllez's Statement

“Elvis Céllez experiments with formality, transmitting by means of color the content of his works. We can not only talk to the figures, but also with tones, backgrounds, nuances that degrade around them. These resources make us feel the alleged aggression and anxiety in the situations that the pieces present… The cultural references of its habitat, not only brings one images, but also very strong experiences of rootlessness and loneliness, making one share in the brutality emanating from the dialogue between the figures, the encounter between bodies: assaulted, insecure, and exposed to the eyes of a voyeur, identifying with the criteria deemed “different” and always accused. Yet, the accuser is hidden, overlapped in that amorphous mass that is society.”
